5 Top tips for choosing a cheap business call provider

It’s a no brainer really that every business should be taking advantage of. Switch your business calls to a cheaper provider for free and save up to 70%. There are some pitfalls that you should be aware of though.

Firstly is the issue of the quality of the line, there is no point in having cheap business calls for your business if the person on the other end can not hear you properly, not only will it cause confusion but it will have an effect on your company image and could mean the difference between a sale or no sale! There is one way to make sure of quality from a provider and that is to use a BT authorised wholesaler, this is where your existing BT lines are used and are still routed by BT, and your lines are still maintained by BT if anything goes wrong with your line. You just benefit from wholesale prices!

Secondly some cheap business call providers hide a minimum call charge into their tariff, this can prove to be more expensive if you are making a lot of very short calls or if the person you are trying to reach is not available you will still be charged, for example 4p. I know this doesn’t sound a lot but trust me over the course of the year this will add up to a staggering amount. So make sure the company you use doesn’t have a minimum call charge.

Thirdly is this day and age there should be no awkward boxes or pre dialling codes you have to dial before your usual number, the cheap business call company should be using carrier pre selection (cps) this allows end-users to select, in advance, alternative Communications Providers to carry their calls without having to dial a prefix or install any special equipment at their premises.

The fourth tip is to use a cheap business call provider with a U.K customer service call centre, this seems to be a big selling point for a lot of different companies not just telephone providers, have you had a bad experience with a foreign call centre? I know I have, in fact I have had many. It makes the customer service process smoother and easier in my opinion if they are u.k based.

The fifth and final tip is that switching to a cheaper business call provider should not cost you a penny, some providers charge a connection fee or a set up fee. These days there are enough companies to choose from that don’t charge a penny for you to change providers, they earn commission on your call spend or are paid a one off commission by the supply company.
